Athena Kreiner
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Athena grew up in Timmins and moved to Thunder Bay in 2002. Shortly after arriving, she joined the Alumni Office at Lakehead University, where she coordinated alumni events and built strong community connections. After four years, she transitioned into fundraising and joined the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.
Amanda Mollicola
Operations and Communications Coordinator
Amanda was born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON. In 2019, she graduated from Lakehead University from the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program with a focus on Marketing. Amanda has worked in the non-profit field since graduation, and has a passion for marketing and communications.
Amanda began at the Thunder Bay Community Foundation as the Social Media Coordinator in 2020, but has since taken on the role of Operations and Communications Coordinator.
At the Thunder Bay Community Foundation, Amanda coordinates annual granting processes (Scholarships, Bursaries, Community Grants, Donor Directed Grants, Government Granting), creates marketing materials for print and online advertising, handles day-to-day administrative tasks such as donation processing, and plans yearly reception events.
Danielle Castellano
Community Engagement Coordinator
Danielle (Dani) Castellano is a communications practitioner with a growing background in Community Engagement and Marketing. She earned her degree in Communications from the University of the City of Manila in 2022 and has since dedicated herself to work in relevant fields.
Now based in Thunder Bay, Danielle aspires to continue working in spaces that value collaboration and impact. Throughout high school and university, she actively contributed to non-profit and student-led organizations, where she helped design outreach campaigns, organize events, and support cause-driven initiatives.
As Community Engagement Coordinator at the Thunder Bay Community Foundation, Danielle is responsible for supporting the Foundation’s outreach efforts, engaging with donors and community partners, and helping facilitate programs that benefit the people and organizations across the District of Thunder Bay.
