Since 1971, the Thunder Bay Community Foundation has been privileged to be supported by talented and passionate individuals from our community. Our Board of Directors is composed of some of Thunder Bay’s finest community oriented individuals ranging from those in the legal industry to retired educators to those in the local business industry. Together, they bring valuable experience, knowledge, and local connections to the Foundation. We are very proud of this group as they help guide our purpose and create opportunities for people across Thunder Bay and District to invest in a stronger community.
Wendy Bell
Board Chair
Wendy Bell currently works as a Realtor for RE/MAX First Choice Realty Ltd, in Thunder Bay, ON. She has been a Realtor for Residential, Commercial, Condominiums, Waterfront, and Rural properties for the past 10 years. This work allows her to use her network to introduce clients to charities and other organizations in the Thunder Bay and district area.
From a young age, Wendy has been involved in the community as a volunteer and advocate. She has worked to help organizations raise their profile, money, and volunteers. Some organizations she has worked with include the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Community Foundation, and many more.

Chair, Community Engagement Committee
Terri Hrkac joined our Board of Directors this year, adding decades of experience in philanthropy, legacy and major giving, and community health programming. After more than 25 years of fundraising experience in the Thunder Bay community, she brings a depth of expertise that strengthens the Foundation’s mission and long-term vision.
Now retired, Terri is eager to contribute her specialized skill set as a member of the Board of Directors.
David Facca, CPA, CA
Chair, Financial Stewardship Committee
David J. Facca, CPA, CA, is a graduate of Fort William Collegiate Institute and Lakehead University, where he earned a Bachelor of Administration degree in 1990. A Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 30 years of experience, he joined MNP LLP in Thunder Bay in 2003 and has served as a Partner since 2008.
Committed to giving back to the community, David has held volunteer and leadership roles with organizations including the Lakehead Regional Family Centre, United Way, the Children’s Centre Foundation, Magnus Theatre, Shelter House, and the Knights of Columbus.
Elaine Graydon
Board Director
Elaine Graydon is an experienced leader in community affairs, marketing, event management, and fundraising. Through her roles with Bell, Bell Aliant, and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation, she has built strong relationships with stakeholders, donors, businesses, and volunteers while leading strategic initiatives and fundraising efforts.
A lifelong Thunder Bay resident, Elaine is deeply committed to her community through volunteer leadership and charitable work. Her involvement with organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre Group, and the Thunder Bay Community Foundation reflects her passion for supporting and strengthening the community.
Jack Jamieson
Board Director
Jack Jamieson is a life-long resident of Thunder Bay and has practiced with CARREL+Partners LLP since his call to the Ontario Bar in 1979. He has 30 years of experience in commercial litigation, insolvency, and corporate and commercial law. Jack has also been Counsel to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation and its predecessors since 1986.
Mary Nucci
Board Director
Mary Nucci is a lifelong Thunder Bay resident with 38 years of experience in purchasing and procurement. Throughout her career, she has worked with organizations such as Abitibi Mission Mill, the City of Thunder Bay, and the Regional Hospital, helping them save money and operate more efficiently to better serve the community.
Additionally, Mary is a passionate volunteer and fundraiser, giving her time and energy to countless charitable organizations for over 30 years. Prior to joining the Board, she served as an evaluator for the Scholarship & Bursary and Grant programs, an experience that deepened her involvement with the Foundation and strengthened her commitment to supporting the community.
Tom Mihaljevic

Tom Mihaljevic joined our Board of Directors this year, bringing with him more than 30 years of executive experience and deep roots in the Thunder Bay community. As President and CEO of Mihaljevic Benefits & Consulting Group, he provides strategic leadership, corporate oversight, and forward-thinking financial solutions that drive organizational growth and excellence.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom is a dedicated community leader. He has spent decades committed to volunteerism and civic engagement, contributing to the advancement of social services, healthcare, education, and a wide range of community initiatives.
