Alison Ross is a grade 12 student graduating from Westgate Collegiate High School and was the Valedictorian for the Thunder Bay Community Foundation’s (TBCF) Scholarship and Bursary Reception this year. “I feel honoured to be here amongst so many hardworking and deserving individuals. Each one of us knows that we would not have accomplished this on our own. We owe many thanks to the people who have supported and encouraged us as we strive towards our goals,” Said Ross.
Alison has been involved in many school activities, such as basketball, soccer, badminton, Student Activities Council, Grad Committee and Grade 12 Representative. “When I first met Alison, she had such a bubbly personality and you could tell she was very passionate about her future endeavors,” said Bonnie Moore, Executive Director.
“I would like to acknowledge the teachers and school officials from all high schools. They challenge us, they test us, but they also believe in us,” said Ross. Alison is enrolled in the 3 year compressed Nursing program at Lakehead University which will take place this fall. She hopes that she can further her education by attending Medical School in the future.
